WASTE GRINDING AND CONVEYING UNITS

Micronised grinding with heavy-duty Hardox rotor and pneumatic injector

A high-strength industrial grinding system for grinding any grain, by-products (waste) or various dry bulk raw materials to the desired micron sizes. Built on a hammer-mill application equipped with all structural features, it is integrated as a unit of two basic waste-conveying-and-crushing models. With its high strength and rigid body, it provides maximum efficiency in in-plant raw-material recovery and grinding processes.

WORKING PRINCIPLE

Screw-speed-controlled homogeneous product entry — flow and balanced feed: the raw material to be ground is delivered to the grinding chamber by an integrated screw or similar mechanical feeders; this controlled feed ensures the machine is fed continuously, regularly and at a uniform rate, preventing sudden load shocks. High-speed rotor and Hardox-hammer kinematics — kinetic-hammer-impact crushing: the crusher mounted on the high-speed rotor applies violent kinetic impacts to the material; the raw material broken by impact is graded over the special sieve surface surrounding the body. Sieve-controlled product size and conveying — pneumatic-injector discharge: micron-level product sizing is set by the sieve-aperture diameter; owing to the special injector system at the machine’s lower outlet, the ground finished product is transferred to the plant’s pneumatic conveying line.

KEY ADVANTAGES

- Machine-chassis thickness: To absorb the dynamic forces, vibrations and abrasive-material impacts arising during grinding, the machine body is made of rigid 12 mm-thick steel sheet.

- Heat-treated Hardox rotor crushing blades: The rotor hammers are made of ultra-high-strength, wear-resistant Hardox material; advanced heat treatment is applied to the material to maximise the blades’ service life.

- Pin design for easy blade change: To keep downtime to zero when maintaining worn or to-be-reversed blades, the blades are mounted on easily removable pins.

- Two-part easily replaceable sieve matrix: The sieve mechanism has a two-part modular combined structure; this allows sieve changes to be made extremely fast and effortlessly for different product microns.

- Direct-coupled star-coupling drive system: The motor and rotor shafts are coupled directly and a star coupling is used in the mechanical drive; this drive reduces power losses to zero and removes excess loads from the motor shaft.

- Configuration and capacity parameters: Model options — made in three separate models by the capacity of product to be ground; drive-motor scale — different motor options for the use purpose, the crushed material’s hardness index and the target output; production capacity — varies mechanically by raw-material type (wheat, maize, bran, waste) and the target micron size set by the sieve diameter. Critical combinations: body thickness — 12 mm rigid structural sheet (maximum body strength and zero flex in high-speed crushing cycles); blade metallurgy — heat-treated original Hardox (high surface hardness against abrasive dry materials); mechanical transmission — motor and mechanical drive (high torque, energy saving); product-conveying system — integrated injector setup (product transfer straight to pneumatic lines with no separate collection hopper).

ENGINEERING NOTE

In the raw-material recovery applications of flour and feed plants, it is the process component that ensures continuity and product-quality efficiency. To extend the machine’s and rotor’s mechanical life and preserve the Hardox blade structure, installing a high-gauss magnet on the line before feeding is strongly recommended; this prevents the metal parts that could mix into the raw material from entering the machine and prevents sieve tears and blade breakages. Screw feeding with motor-speed control (inverter) keeps the Hardox rotor always in the ideal amperage range and ensures the plant’s minimum energy consumption.
