TUBE SCREW CONVEYOR

Closed-conveying station for horizontal and inclined lines with smart speed control

A high-performance closed tube-conveyor system for the dust-free, safe transfer over horizontal, angled or vertically inclined lines of bulk products in grain, granular (wheat, pulses) or micronised-dust (flour, bran) form in flour, semolina and feed mills. Its fully sealed cylindrical structure eliminates material leaks and environmental emissions and manages precise product-collection processes, especially on silo-discharge lines.

WORKING PRINCIPLE

Stable feeding from the discharge bottom outlet — direct sub-silo integration: the tube screw is usually integrated by flanges straight to the lower outlets of silo-discharger units; the flour, wheat or bran shed from the silo by vibration falls into the screw’s closed tube body. Reducer-driven helical transmission — cylindrical-axis conveying: the inner screw shaft receiving high torque from a direct-coupled geared motor begins to rotate; through the zero-leakage area of the cylindrical tube body, the product is dragged stably on the targeted axis (horizontal or inclined) by the helical flights. Precise discharge to the collector screw — multi-line collection: the tube screw, having taken product from its own line, discharges it without loss to the main collector screw or the next conveying line, synchronised with the other independently working twin tube-screw systems.

KEY ADVANTAGES

- Dust-free, safe cylindrical design: Unlike classic open U-type trough screws, it has a fully closed “tube” body of circular cross-section; this structure reliably prevents dust from escaping into the environment, especially when conveying flour and bran, and provides a 100% clean working area.

- Horizontal and inclined-line flexibility: The tube and flight geometry, optimised to fluid-mechanics criteria, allows the product to be conveyed without pile-up or back-flow not only on level floors but also on inclined and steep lines at certain angles, raising the plant’s vertical-space efficiency.

- Smart speed management from the central control room: The optionally integrated frequency converter (speed-control device) allows the machine’s speed — and thus the hourly product conveying flow — to be commanded instantly from the plant’s main control room (PLC/SCADA system).

- High-torque geared-motor integration: Power transmission is provided by heavy-duty geared motors connected directly to the shaft; this mechanical design, which removes belt-pulley losses, eliminates the jamming risk even under sudden loads and full-load start-ups.

- Modular capacity and diameter variety: It is made in different tube diameters and industrial models to suit the plant’s hourly discharge capacity, the conveyed material’s density and the structural route length.

ENGINEERING NOTE

The Tube Screw is the most stable mechanical component of the product-dosing and collection combinations made from silos in flour and semolina mills. The cylindrical tube form of the body keeps the radial clearance (tolerance) between the helical-flight edge and the inner wall equal and minimal at every point. This geometric precision lets it act, especially when run with a frequency converter, as a volumetric dosing device, guaranteeing the precise preservation of the flour-grist ratios flowing to the collector screw.
