V-BELT DRIVEN PNEUMATIC CONVEYING FAN

Highly stable air-management system with V-belt drive and monoblock cast bearings

A high-performance industrial fluid machine for the vertical and horizontal conveying, to the plansifters (square sieves) through pipelines by air aspiration, of the semi-product masses broken and ground on the roller mills in the food and milling industry. Able to produce high dynamic pressure, these fans, at minimum energy use relative to the work done, provide operational efficiency and energy saving in the plant.

WORKING PRINCIPLE

Roll-outlet passage vacuuming — aerodynamic suction: the hot, moist raw material ground on the roll floor and brought to dust/semolina form is drawn into the controlled, high-speed negative-pressure (vacuum) zone created by the pneumatic fan in the pipelines. Flow- and pressure-focused rotor kinematics — dynamic acceleration: the dynamically balanced impeller gives the fluid high kinetic energy; the specific flow (m³/h) and pressure (Pa) values, calculated precisely for the plant diagram, reliably prevent the material from settling in the pipeline. Plansifter and pneumatic-cyclone conveying infrastructure — uninterrupted classification: the air-product mixture blown or drawn by the fan at a stable speed advances through the pipelines without loss and is conveyed to the pneumatic cyclone batteries for separation and sieving.

KEY ADVANTAGES

• “Multi-Drive” flexible drive (V-belt). To suit the plant layout and speed requirements, it is produced in a V-belt drive configuration: a flexible design allowing speed changes, with types on special bearing blocks to bear high radial loads.

• “Multi-Angle” adjustable body geometry. For full fit to the plant’s piping diagram and the physical constraints of the mounting area, scroll bodies that can be rotated to different discharge angles are available; application-specific manufacture is possible.

• Minimum energy consumption (high aerodynamic efficiency). The impeller blade profiles and scroll inner-wall geometry are optimised with sophisticated fluid-mechanics software; turbulence and reverse leakage are minimised, and maximum conveying power is achieved at the lowest motor powers.

• Wide model and capacity spectrum. It is made in a great variety of types, industrial models and motor-power options to suit the plant’s hourly total crushing capacity, pipeline distances and the bulk density of the product conveyed.

ENGINEERING NOTE

The pneumatic fan is the “lung” of the conveying network between the rolls and sieves in a flour mill. The stability of the balance between the static pressure the fan produces and the dynamic flow is the single parameter preventing the “pile-up and clogging” risks in the pipes. The special heavy-duty bearing system used in the belt models damps the radial loads on the fan shaft, extends bearing life and reliably prevents thermal damage to them.
