Intensive Abrasive Scouring & Ash Reduction
A machine for abrasively removing the grain’s cellulosic outer coat through intense friction against an emery (abrasive) surface. Used to produce high-quality, low-ash flour.
WORKING PRINCIPLE
Pre-cleaning (mechanical preparation and ear-opening): adhering coarse soil is removed from the incoming grain surface while un-threshed ears are mechanically broken open. Emery liner (intensive abrasive scouring): a dynamically balanced rotor hurls the grain at high speed onto a specially formulated, long-life emery liner; intense friction scrapes off the cellulosic coat. Coat separation and discharge (ash optimisation): the separated micro-coats that darken flour are filtered out through the liner perforations, while the fully scoured grain — with minimum breakage and maximum purity — passes to the next station.
KEY ADVANTAGES
• Radical ash reduction: A high degree of coat removal lowers ash content — one of the most critical quality parameters — permanently and stably.
• Long-life emery liner: The liner, made of a special high-strength emery compound, shows outstanding wear resistance and a higher peeling index than steel liners.
• Microbiological safety: Mechanically scraping off harmful surface layers lowers the flour’s bacterial load and directly extends shelf life.
• Flexible body & drive: Different body sizes and motor powers are available to suit hourly capacity and diagram density.
ENGINEERING NOTE
The emery scourer is one of the most strategic units for producing high-quality, low-ash flour. Its abrasive geometry targets only the cellulosic coat without harming the nutritious endosperm, which means high grist yield.
