Intensive dampening station with half-moon paddle technology
An advanced conditioning (tempering) system specially designed for grain to reach its targeted high moisture levels in the shortest time and with maximum homogeneity. Usually positioned in the dry-cleaning lines of flour and semolina mills, the angled intensive dampener uses a special angled internal mechanism to radically shorten tempering time and guarantee the ideal moisture balance that directly raises flour quality.
WORKING PRINCIPLE
Smart sensor and solenoid valve management — filtration and flow sensing: water entering the system first passes through a dedicated filter and is cleared of lime and particles; a precise flow sensor on the line, on detecting wheat entry, commands the solenoid valve and admits water at a pre-set flow rate. Zero-error instant cut-off — automatic flow safety: if product flow stops or is interrupted, the sensor closes the solenoid valve within milliseconds and instantly cuts the water supply, fully preventing wheat sludging and system damage. Half-moon angled paddle technology — intensive in-flow mixing: the precisely dampened wheat is met by half-moon-shaped paddles set at special angles on the rotor, which, while carrying the product forward, simultaneously mix it extremely intensively and aggressively about their own axis, ensuring the water is dressed uniformly onto every kernel.
KEY ADVANTAGES
• Half-moon paddle geometry: The special angled half-moon paddles on the rotor optimise the wheat’s residence time in the machine and the aeration balance; without cracking the kernel, they create an intense scrubbing effect and multiply the speed at which water penetrates the inner endosperm.
• Maximum conditioning precision: An sophisticated flow sensor and a fast-opening/closing solenoid valve provide maximum moisture penetration into the kernel in minimum time.
• AISI 304 stainless-steel body: All internal components, paddles, rotors and the outer body — in the zone of intensive moisture circulation and constant mechanical friction — are made of high-grade AISI 304 stainless steel, offering 100% corrosion resistance and food safety.
• Flexible motor and model options: Different body sizes and motor-power alternatives are available to suit the plant’s hourly capacity, diagram density and target moisture-increase percentages.
ENGINEERING NOTE
The angled intensive dampener performs especially well on multi-stage or precision conditioning diagrams where homogeneous water distribution is critical. The axial force of the half-moon paddles breaks the wheat’s surface tension and drives water deep into the kernel’s cell structure; this prevents bran from breaking into the flour during milling and keeps the ash content in balance.
